Working with Bigrock in Blogger

My last article was a how to tutorial and it nicely demonstrates how bloggers can add Godaddy domain to their blogger blog. So, I thought of making another how to tutorial for Bigrock users. This is going to be a simple tutorial also.

While there are many domain registration sites, Bigrock is a famous name among new and professional bloggers.

Let's get started..

Steps to follow

1. Open Blogger in one tab and Bigrock in another

2. In blogger, navigate to Settings > Basic > Publishing > +Setup a third party URL for your blog

3. Type in your custom domain like this

4. Click on 'Save' and you will see some error like this. Blogger will show you CNAME records with this error and you need to add them in Bigrock domain control panel.

Note:- Do not close or click anywhere until there is a step saying so.

5. Now, move to Bigrock
You will be seeing something like this after clicking on account option

6. Click on the domain name and scroll down to DNS Management

7. Click on 'Manage DNS' and a new window will pop up. It's not an ad and do not close it.

8. Now, click on 'CNAME Records' and add CNAME from Blogger shown in step 4. In 'Value' field click on the second radio button as shown in screenshot.

9. Just like that add another CNAME record that Blogger gave you in step 4. There are 2 CNAME records in step 4 error and you must add them both. In 'Value' field click on the second radio button as shown in screenshot.

10. Now, click on 'A Records' and then click on 'Add a record'

11. Here, you need to add 4 A records. These are the A records you need to add

216.239.32.21

216.239.34.21

216.239.36.21

216.239.38.21

Just copy these records and add them in A records section. Leave the host name blank and add all four A records like shown in screenshots

12. Finally, you will be having all the records like this

13. Go, back to blogger and click on 'Save'. It can take some time and if you are unable to save it then wait for some time.

14. Once, you can save reload the page and again go back to publishing section and then click on edit, mark the redirection box.

This is it. Now your custom domain has been added to your blog.





Setting up custom domain in blogger is easy but do not forget to mark the www settings in last step to avoid issues with www.
